North: |
| Kanchanjunga
is the third highest mountain in the world. This trek leads you to
spectacular high altitude scenery on the north side of Kanchanjunga.
The trek starts from
Basantpur, which is a large bazaar at 2200m on a ridge above the Tanmaya
Khola, with a view of entire Kanchanjunga. Basantpur is accessible
from Kathmandu-Biratnagar flight or Kathmandu- Dharan direct bus followed
by a local bus ride. The itinerary goes as follow. |

trek to Makalu Base Camp visits one of the most remote and unfrequented
areas of Nepal. This is a long, arduous, trekking course.
Beware of altitude sickness, as there are many ups and downs;
more over the pre-monsoon so you must be prepared for this to
be the most difficult segment of your trek. |
